Gastrogo : Java-Based Food Ordering System
Gastrogo is a Java-based food ordering system designed to streamline the food court management process by connecting customers, vendors, and administrators in a single application. The project was developed as part of an Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) coursework, with a strong emphasis on modular design and class-based implementation. Using this system, customers can browse vendor menus, place orders, and select whether to dine in, take away, or request delivery, while vendors are instantly notified to begin preparation.
The application includes essential features such as user registration, login authentication, order placement, notifications, payments, and order history management. A credit-based payment system was implemented, allowing customers to conveniently reload credits through the administrator before completing purchases. The system was developed around four core roles: Customer, Vendor, Administrator, and Delivery Service, each encapsulated with their own functionality to reflect OOP principles like inheritance, encapsulation, and polymorphism.
This project sharpened my ability to design and implement object-oriented solutions in Java, focusing on class hierarchies, reusability, and maintainability. While Gastrogo serves as a functional prototype, I see opportunities to evolve it into a more enterprise-grade solution by integrating modern frameworks, cloud databases, and mobile platforms in future iterations. The experience provided me with a solid foundation in bridging theory with practical system development, preparing me for larger-scale software engineering challenges.
